Rehoboth Run 2017

You said bugnuts!!!
Spellcheck sucks!

Sandy and I met up with Phil and Tonyea today and we ran the Friday cruise route. It will be a nice cruise into Selbyville/West Ocean City where we'll have lunch at The Harbor Side. From there, we'll cruise into Ocean City and mix it up a bit as we cruise through town for Hot Rod weekend. Up to Indian River inlet for a refreshment and back to the hotel for the Circling of Lawnchairs in the parking lot. We have Po'Boys food truck lined up again. So, get ready for some Gumbo, Jambalaya and warm Bug Nuts! Errr...Beignets! I meant Beignets!::)

I will be at the Dover Race Sunday and plan to stay at 3 different places (one being the Holiday Inn) but from Saturday through Wednesday need a safe place to park the trailer, not sure Holiday Inn would let me leave it there all week and the Hotel in Ocean City says

It appears that I will not be able to attend this year as I have car problems. I know the Delaware group planned a great weekend and I hope everyone enjoys the great weather and fun times. Be careful out there.

Sorry to hear Larry about the car, I was wondering if that would hinder you. Thanks for everything, see you soon!!

Friday we are cruising to Harbor Side in west Ocean City to for lunch, cruising through OC up to Big Chill beach bar at the Indian River inlet and then food truck/parking lot party Friday evening. Saturday we will take a morning cruise to the Wings and Wheels car/airplane show at the Sussex County airport in Georgetown and then have lunch/libations at the Seaside Grill in Long Neck followed by the BBQ at Robs house that evening. We will meet for Sunday breakfast somewhere in Rehoboth or Dewey. We are experiencing a record low # of attendees and may have to modify some plans. We plan on having a great time with those that can make it. (Departure for Friday cruise will be at 9:45)

More complete itinerary info.... (times and $ included) Friday leave Hotel @ 9:45, drive to Harbor Side Bar and Grill in West OC for lunch. After lunch 1 -1:30?? leave West OC, cruise through OC (street rods are in town) stop at the Big Chill beach club at the Indian River inlet for a beverage and great views. (the Big Chill is located inside the state park so there is a parking fee $5 for DE cars, $10 for out of state) From Big Chill we will return to Rehoboth. There will be a few hours to rest, shop, drink, whatever... before Friday dinner. I cancelled the food truck for Friday night because of small #s this year. We can either go to a restaurant or get food delivered to the parking lot party. We can decide as a group 6-6:15 in the parking lot. Saturday we will leave at 8:45 for "Wings and Wheels Event" at the Sussex County airport in Georgetown DE for a car/aircraft show. (there is a $15 registration fee per car to get into the show with proceeds going to the homeless and museum project at the airport) We will leave the show @ 11-11:30 and drive to the Paradise Grill in Long Neck DE for lunch at noon. (nice spot like Seacrets) After Lunch we will return back to Rehoboth and then meet @ 6 at Robs for the BBQ(BYOB) . Saturday night after dinner, "Bruce In The USA" (a great Springsteen tribute band) is having a free concert at the Starboard in Dewey....lots of fun if you don't mind a late night!!!!!!!!!!!! Sunday Morning we will meet for breakfast at Arena"s @ 9am. (1/2 mile from hotel) There is a $10 buffet, or you can order off the menu. Looking forward to a great weekend!

Guys, I regret to say this but with Jacks possible funeral arrangements, my roommate is also bailing. I have just discovered a broken motor mount that is pressing against the block. Funding can't allow for both the run commitment or repairs. If I wasn't so constraint with funding I would show up in my truck.
My apologies to all who have scheduled this fantastic 3 day event, I know how hard you all worked to set this up and it painful for me to turn down.
Sorry.
Dan

While the turn out was low for a variety of reasons, once again the Delaware contingent of CACC put together a great weekend. Thanks for all you guys do, Barb and I had a great time.

We had a great time this weekend!! Great weather, cars, food, but most of all great people! We are already talking about next year, and will have dates and a rough itinerary next month. If you made this one thanks for coming. If you could not make it we understand and are looking forward to next year.

Most excellent weekend! Plenty of side splitting moments.
In keeping with tradition, we had one breakdown as Mike Z's car had a rocker issue enroute to Rehoboth. But, he found empty seats and was still able to join in.
The Divas were also in rare form. Yucking it up around town. On Friday evening, we went to Big Fish for dinner. The Divas traipsed in wearing boas, elbow length gloves, cat eyes sunglasses and fake cigs. One table looked at them oddly and I had to explain it was a bachelorette party and all of us guys were their dancers. The woman sitting there replied, without missing a beat "They need their money back!" She would fit in nicely with this crowd!

Michelle Cataldi showed up with her nephew driving Phil's car. Leaving Paradise Grill on Saturday, we made a detour and stopped by to see Phil's parents. A bittersweet visit. But, they were very appreciative.

Saturday night, we hoisted our glasses to Jack, Phil, Wade and Tom, with stories told all weekend about how they all bettered our lives by knowing them.

Great time and we look forward to next year and a return of the numbers. As Phil said, we'll get the info out sooner so folks can de conflict.
