Area garage tour to welcome spring FOR THE CUMBERLAND TIMES-NEWS
RAWLINGS — The 2019 Spring Fling Automotive Garage Tour will be held March 23 beginning at 9 a.m. in the garage of Bud George at 15921 Holly Drive in Rawlings.
Participants will be treated to a variety of auto-related sights and projects, spending up to as much as an hour at each of a half-dozen or more shops and garages.
As has become a tradition, many participants will drive their street rods or custom automobiles throughout the day’s event.
In addition, a free National Street Rod Association safety inspection will be offered.
Activities will culminate at the 1812 Brewery at 13006 Mason Road at 3:30 p.m. where a big-block-powered1953 GMC “Beer Bus” will be unveiled. More information may be obtained from George at 301-729-5105.
This 1953 GMC bus, formerly used to transport firemen and assist in emergency situations, is the property of the 1812 Brewery. Modified with a big-block Chevrolet engine, power steering and power brakes, it will be unveiled at the end of the Spring Fling Garage Tour on March 23.
