Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone have any experience using gas-n side pipes.

I'm building a MK4 with 427, and some say that the noise level in the cockpit during a cruise can be a little uncomfortable.
Wanted to get your thoughts on that..

Help~

Not familiar with them. I used Lobak augers inside the sidepipes supplied by FFR. Some have said there’s a frequency issue. I’ve not had any issue. Quieted the factory pipes considerably. I also turned the tips down about 10degrees.

My stock side pipes noise doesn't bother me on my 351w / 5 speed, even when cruising... I actually love it.
What most drivers don't realize though is that the wind turbulence noise in the cockpit will damage your hearing in the long run... so you have to wear ear protection for longer rides anyway.

Whatever stuffing was in the FFR Factory side pipes was blown out by Stephen Price years ago. And I love the sound!

If you don't set off car alarms when you drive-by your pipes aren't loud enough. Right Scott? I said right Scott? Scott did you hear me? Scott? Scott?
Reminds me of riding the Harley into parking garages. LOL!!

I do have a suggestion that may be helpful. A significant downside (no pun intended) to downward pointing tips, is that the exhaust causes any road debris to become air born. Dust, sand and small gravel gets blasted into the air which is very annoying to other CACCs traveling next to or behind you. you.
I wear foam ear plugs which are very cheap, comfortable and effective in protecting my hearing. The only exception was driving next to Elder or Jack May when they were running with dumps.

Yes, we took that into consideration when I turned mine down. It’s why we only went about 10* down.
