Anyone going to the Colonial Challenge Cup on 4/17?

I'm thinking about signing up and taking the Mustang to it. Any 411 from people that have gone to it before? Good event? Participants and organizers laid back enough? I haven't found info on the requirements yet - street tires, track tires, etc?

I did a search and saw that Elder has been to this and looks like it was a good event. Next question, do they allow track tires? I am thinking about getting a new set for the Mustang for this event.

I looked this up and would like to do this.........but I don't think that I have the skill level for it.

Track tires are fine, running Hoosiers on the '95. Great place for newbies to try out HPDE. I'll probably be going again. Highly recommended!

I'm registered with the Mustang and planning to go. Going to buy new track tires since I just have the old A6's on it right now. Elder, hope you come along, that would be fun. Jeff Duncan (if you remember him) is going to come too.

Great event, usually 3 run groups, so no reason to worry about not being qualified. As long as your car can pass tech you'll have an instructor. 4 sessions and a BBQ at the end of the day with awards. The Drumheller's have taken home the "Most Eventful" award a few times. FWIW I was on 200 treadwear tires every time.

I instructed there last year... was only CACC'r there. I won the "Worst Instructor" award since my student made himself sick, stopped his car on track, got out and puked on the pavement. He pulled off track right, so when he exited the car HE WAS ON HANDS AND KNEES ON THE HOT TRACK! He was invited to not continue afterwards.... 2nd run group too, not a newbie... :idiot2:

Vic: Suggest you not eat the three bean chili prior to instructing. Bad air will sideline any driver no matter how experienced.

And to think, I've had both the "Worst Instructor" and "Most Eventful Driver" as previous instructors :uglystupid2: Maybe I'm hanging with the wrong crowd.
