Has anyone used Arlington Armature before to have a starter repaired/rebuilt? I had to replace the solenoid on my Tilton (confirmed the right one with them) and while it works and will start the car, it will sometimes grind if I have to crank the engine for more than a few seconds (that nasty noise like if you engage the starter while the flywheel's spinning). Tilton suggested sending it to their repair shop in NC, but I'd rather have someone local look at it.

Open to other recommendations too.

I'll put reco under the Local Resources forum too, but Arlington Armature in Lorton was great. They repair/rebuild starters, alternators/generators and radiators. They've been there since 1947. They took one look at the solenoid I'd replaced and told me it needed to be rotated 180 degrees. I also had them replace the pinion gear while I was there, which they had in stock at a price 50% less than what it would've cost at Summit Racing. They did it while I waited - probably took 40 mins.
