Very nice of Ben and a wonderful tribute to Wade. I hope Beth and the kids see this. And one helluva a build by Fred and Larry. It's a shame we don't hear from them and Ben as I guess life gets in the way. Happy Thanksgiving to all the members on the site this week. Be safe and stay well!!

What a nice gesture. Way to go Ben!

Last time I saw the BDC was in 2010 when I had to replace a drive belt that had broken at Summit Point.

You can't control what happens to your car after you sell it.

I actually like the wrap on the Cobra, but the fake guns make no sense.
And the guy who did this, sold the car shortly after.

I'm not a tax lawyer but I'm sure Ben will write off what he has invested in the build ( and rightfully so) and not what it sold for. Still a wonderful contribution to a needy cause.

Losses from the sale of personal-use property, such as your home or car, aren't tax deductible.

I doubt if Ben (who is an attorney) can claim it's a business loss.

He didn'r sell it. He donated it and the proceeds went to charity. It doesn't matter what it garnered at auction but the value of the item as determined by an independent appraisal is what he can write-off.
