Driving/racing school recommendations

I'm thinking about taking my son to a driving / racing school this spring or summer. Anyone have any recommendations? Dad and I did the Panoz one about 15 years ago and it was great. Only problem is that it doesn't exist any longer. Anyone have experience with one that they really liked? I'm thinking about doing one that would get you a SCCA license at the end (which is usually a 3 day course).

I did Bertol Roos. They do open wheel cars at VIR south course and PA, locally. They have a 3 and 5 day. Both are SCCA approved. 5 day gets you SCCA competitive license since the last 2 days are racing. Probably not the best school, but close and depending on costs, might be best deal.

I did a Skip Barber racing school ten years ago. It was held at Carolina Motorsports Park over 3 days. Received my SCCA license as a result. They have them all over the country. We had great instructors and did the course in open wheelers.

Doug,
(Ignore the ones that Elder says are closed unless they aren't!) Tom
Yes, I keep getting ads popping up on the PC for Bondurant. This was the latest piece on the WEB I found..http://www.thedrive.com/accelerator/25163/bondurant-racing-school-is-back-open-for-now-as-it-reorganizes-under-chapter-11 So they may still be open.

Now here's an idea I had for Helen. Would make a great Christmas present. http://www.amgacademy.com/program

And they have programs on the east coast. If you register for the PRO+, you would be eligible for the SCCA comp license..
It's a little pricey...probably $10k PP to get to the PRO+ level.

Tom - that's for that link, I'll check that out. Elder, the AMG one sounds cool but is probably a bit on the pricey side at that cost. Let me know if you end up going.

No, the AMG one would be for H...which she would never do.

If I go, it will be to the Ford Racing program in Utah with Jonathan. Right now they only show one date in April. :buck2:

Yeah, I was thinking about taking Austin to one. I would try to go to that one with you guys but he won't be out of school that early.
