Faulty manual transmissions

I read about this. Seems to have affected 3% of 2011-2019 models. And cars driven on track have higher incident of problems.

My 2015 hasn't had any issues, but I have very low mileage (~13000) and haven't even tried the line lock or launch control yet.

Ford made some upgrades to the transmission in 2015 with the S 550 model, so maybe I'll escape the problems.

I will add that I have 4 cars with different manual transmissions: T5, TKO, T600, and the Getrag MT82, and the MT82 shifts better and smoother than the others.

Also, one has to ask why Ford used the TREMEC TR-3160 in the GT350.

They did improve the trans since intro in 2011. It is known for inferior syncros. And lets not forget the crappy shifter design (front linkage attached to trans and rear to body). Also shifting when cold has been a recurring problem. Most have changed to a better trans fluid. Plus you have to remember that most of the problem comes about from drag racing, which seems to be popular with the Mustang crowd. On my 2013, higher redline and supercharger made things worst, but after fluid and new shifter, which attached to trans, no problem up to 35,000 when i sold it.
