Hello everyone. My name is Devin and I am just joining the club. I have been talking about building a car for several years now but my Navy career has been in the way. However, I've submitted my retirement paperwork and I have 2 teenage boys that can help so I think next spring it's time to finally pull the trigger and get to work. I recently attended the FFR build school out in Michigan where I first heard of CACC. Having skulked around the site for a couple of weeks now, you all seem to be a fun and interactive group that I look forward to getting to know.

I haven't yet ordered a kit or even finalized any of the tough decisions regarding the drivetrain. Having only been here for just under 2 years, I definitely don't have a clue regarding local resources (machine shops, painters etc) so any advice is greatly appreciated, particularly on the North side of DC (I'm in Odenton near Fort Meade).

I'm sure as I get ready to order the kit (December-ish?) I'll post alot more. In the meantime, I'll work on organizing my garage and doing more homework prior to the build.

Until next time,

DJM

Welcome to the club Devin. Driving a cobra is one of the most fun things you can do with your clothes on!

Welcome Devin. That Navy 94 wouldn't indicate a Squid would it. If so, wasn't that a great game yesterday. :D

Don't worry Ken, I already warned him about you and your mischievous driving tactics, which were caught on video on New Year's Day! Lol!!

Dan,

Thanks again for the opportunity to co-pilot. It was a blast. I'm sure you can photoshop the finger over the lens out of most of the shots.;)

Now I just need to get my project beyond the ordered phase. My wife is already working up the 'honey-do' list of things she wants accomplished before she loses me to the garage.

As for everyone's driving prowess, I'll refrain from comment to until you have seen mine. But I will say, I appreciate those of you who set the bar low for the rest of us.

No, you hide yours

Same body panels on little car that it came with, just some fiberglass and spray paint. And anyway, its all relative. My orginal reference was to Dans driving. I had the wife in the car, so my driving was tame this year on cruise.:burnout:

Well, I followed Ken over and back, and can verify that Helen was in charge of how that Lone Star was driven.... I don't think he did much more than 5 over speed limit. Now, between the capital and kill roys, don't know....you'll have to call Helen ::)

Thanks Jim, Elder's just trying to divert the conversation away from him :idiot2:

Sorry Devin !
