Lockdown Projects

We all know Scott has cut enough firewood to heat the Frozen Tundra! But, what are some other projects that people have been working on?

Me; starting the task of clearing my detached garage. Then I will be enclosing it. Insulation, plywood on the walls and corrugated ceiling panels.

I’ve also gotten back into the RC flying hobby with this little jewel.

And the P-47 is on order.95446F10-E151-4E41-8C3A-44C10E8E97C3.jpeg08577B69-C38C-424D-8499-CA6D84C05EC2.jpeg

I started flying my RC planes again too. I posted this in the other thread also but since it was a project I'll post it here. I just finished converting Dad's Zephyr to a manual transmission. Gonna try to wrap up the Zephyr and then start doing some work on the Ranch Wagon. It's going to need a new water pump and the 80s aftermarket stereo could use updating.

Doug,

I don't know...

There's just something appealing about a 5-second street car.

Did you notice they were in a bar and after a while this idea came up?

Well, I finally got my '89 TRAKCAR running good again. (the car had a cylinder miss on #5 after a track event at Summit Point)

After a frustrating set of diagnostic tests (plug wires, spark plugs, leak-down test, valve train measurements including push rods, rockers, valve lift measurement, injector NOID light test etc) it finally started running fine. Since I replaced several items at the same time, I cannot positively state what it was. It could have been some debris in the fuel rail, or a spark plug internal failure.

I was planning on swapping the engine out with the351 I bought from Ripper, and since the car is EFI, I had to diagnose it in the car. Once I pulled it out, I couldn't run it on the engine stand without a complete engine harness, ECU and sensors etc etc.

Now I'll be pre-running the 351 in preparation for the swap. I was planning on having a "fire-up" party in the garage, but with the Virus crap, that seems impractical. So you'll have to wait for the video (hopefully with plenty of flames!

I took a scooter that had a bad body and a great running gear and I created a new body out of 2 1956 Chevy fenders that I married together. I was able to use the single headlight and cut the front fender trim and mated them together on the front.

Very cool Rob, but please tell me that a '56 chevy wasn't cannibalized just for this.

You must use that test stand for Big blocks with the need for such a large gas tank, that tank will keep a small block running long enough to not only brake in but to wear out!!!!

Did a few upgrades to the Cobra and went out for a spirited drive !!!

Next time.................

My wife invented a new game called the Internet memory game. The way to game is played, you buy all the crap you see on the Internet(" Make up candles crafts outfits furniture). And then you try to remember why you bought them, and where you bought them from. :tickedoff::knuppel2:

R&R'd the cobra head gaskets, new LEDs and controller for the reef tank, 3D printing PPE and then the obligatory printer upgrades after frying the main board....
