I’m okay with the no lunch.

We can still make the stops, just follow the 6’ distance rule for socializing and always wear a mask while in groups to talk.

Cruise - yes. Lunch - no, but I can arrange it for Kilroy's if there's interest.
Woody, you might mention this to Pip. Total # TBD.
Thanks

For you newbies, in recent years we have been finishing the cruise at Kilroys in Springfield. Gary's next door neighbor is the owner. He graciously arranges for us to take over his backyard tent. It is heated with side curtains. Hopefully, we can spread out and dine safely in there.

With the recent restrictions due to COVID 19, I regret to inform you we will have to cancel the cruise.

I started to layout a cruise route, and the new restrictions just announced by Gov. Northam motivated me do some research on what is closed or restricted.

First, in VA the size of gatherings are restricted to 25 (See below ) , We already have 22 signed up, and most will have a passenger. So our start point at Cooper School or any stop at Fort Hunt Park are a problem.

Second, in DC the parking lot at the Tidal basin is closed and parking along East Potomac Park is prohibited. (See below) Additionally, one of our preferred rest stops (with bathrooms) near Pierce Mill in Rock Creek park is now restricted to 50 people.

I have no idea what restrictions are in place on Pennsylvania Ave where we park by the Capitol. But I assume the Capitol Police are responsible for enforcing the 50 person restriction.

Gov. Ralph Northam (D) lowered the number of people allowed for gatherings indoors or outdoors from 250 to 25

These sites are closed until further notice:
All parking south of Independence Avenue SW, including Parking Lots A, B and C on Ohio Drive SW, the Tidal Basin Parking Lot, and street parking on Ohio Drive in East Potomac Park.

Obviously, you are free to do your own thing, but there is no reasonable way to hold our customary cruise with the existing restrictions in DC and VA.

Maybe we should call it a protest and then we can do whatever we want

Elder,

How about you guys split into two groups?
Tom
Still cant park at Tidal Basin or Haines point, our meeting spot for the MD group.
But as I said, all are free to do their own thing.
Maybe we can hold a Memorial day cruise?

MD can meet at capital vice tidal basin and if rock creek is open could do bathrooms there. Still doesn't address start of cruise. I'ld follow group to kilroy's then split at beltway. Let me know if you want to check on capital parking.

Go for it Ken. I'm out.
Probably need to see if Capitol police have any issues, and if the bathrooms are really open at Rock Creek park.
