We usually end up parked along the right curb with our cars heading towards Tilden St (red line). Many of us turn left off Tilden onto Shoemaker St and then we have 25 cobras trying to make a U-turn in the area of the green box. It is a lot easier to go past Shoemaker and then turn left onto Spring of Freedom St and drive down to the curb parking.

AND WE DISCOVERED DUE TO THE PARTIAL FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN, THE RESTROOMS AT PARK GROVE ARE CLOSED. IF THIS IS AN ISSUE FOR ANYONE, WE SUGGEST THAT YOU SCHEDULE A BATHROOM STOP AT THE ZOO ON THE RETURN ROUTE. THE ZOO WILL BE OPEN, SO THE PARKING LOT MAY BE CROWDED.

While driving through D.C., PLEASE, do remember that that place is chock full of speed cameras, and speed traps. keep the speed and don't challenge
any yellow lights changing to red. Hope none of us gets a "camera ticket", just be careful!!

And I understand they're banning right turn on red at many intersections. I believe that's not the default, however. I think they're going to put signs at the no-turn-on-red intersections. And 5-0 will be gleefully writing paying paper, I'm sure.

AND, today, Dec. 31, the District as activated the "NO TURN IN RED" to 100 intersections with traffic lights, BE CAREFUL!!

And bike lane cameras. Not for revenue. Safest place in the world.
74 sq miles, and only 160 homicides so far this year !!

Good thing we'll be eating in VA. I hear that dc is installing plastic straw cameras.
