Request for information...

I am looking for any recommended options for leasing (preferably chauffeured) a Shelby Cobra 427 for a half-day AM for my son Mark's wedding in Chantilly this coming Saturday September 14th. I figured reaching out to the NoVA Cobra Club wouldn't be the worst idea in the world...

Mark's fiance is of North Indian descent, thus the wedding will be a Hindu ceremony, including a beginning ~90 min procession called a Baraat (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baraat) that typically requires an elephant, horse, or vintage car. In my opinion, no car would better fit that description than a Shelby Cobra 427. I'm imagining most of her family from India are not familiar with the history of Carroll Shelby's designs, but you never can tell...

Any help or response is greatly appreciated...

Sorry Tim. Just seeing this now. But I couldn't think of a car more ill suited to a wedding procession!
Noise, exhaust fumes among other reasons. Hope you found something more suitable.

Scott, your points are well taken... thanks. The primary purpose of the vehicle in the Baraat (or horse, or elephant in the old country) are to show strength/power as the groom's party processes up the driveway (of the Westfields Marriott in this case). Typically the groom rides as a passenger in the car while everyone else walks behind or beside the car for the relatively short distance, however, I had not considered the noise (straight headers with no mufflers?) or exhaust fumes as a factor. Would still like to discuss the possibility with anyone interested, particularly if the car has more traditional exhaust. Do you know if anybody owns replica Shelby Cobra's that are faithful to the originals
to the originals, but are more "street legal"?

If you are in dire straits, I would agree to drive the groom in my car…not a 427, but a 289 FIA replica and I also have side pipes on the car.

Paul, very much appreciate the offer. My son is in Grad School at Duke right now... I will reach back to him and his fiance to let them know our options, and let you know what they say.

Wait…Duke? LOL Just tell me he is Terps fan. All good and let me know.
He actually went to UMBC undergrad... He has no real allegiance to Duke other than their Computer Engineering program. My daughter went to UMD, and then Michigan for grad school, so that created some interesting conflicts for her during football season! Will let you know what they say...

Dutchmon, thanks much for checking back. Per the preferences of my son and his fiance, we are moving forward with another option. I personally had a strong preference for the Cobra, but they both wanted something a little more familiar. Thanks, again, for your consideration...
