SPOTTED!

Hello all. I'm new here having just acquired a FFR MK3 a couple of months ago. Was looking to meet some local owners and I've seen at least one of you cruising near my house a couple of times. Got me to thinking about creating a "spotted" thread where we can post up times and locations where we've seen other Cobras on the road in an effort to make some connections. In the process of inquiring about doing this, learned that @sbrookeinmd is practically my neighbor.

Anyhow, I hope folks will find this useful/fun.

Mike

Spotted a silver Cobra Saturday (10/22/2022) when I was leaving the Flood Zone Marketplace and Brewery in Union Bridge, between 2:30 and 3pm. You were heading north on 75 (Green Valley Road) as I was heading south. Waved as we passed. There was a car show at Vintage Restoration next door to the brewery so perhaps you were heading there?

Who/What: Silver Cobra
Where: heading north on 75 (Green Valley Road), Union Bridge, MD
When: 10/22/2022, 2:30-3pm
Other: Perhaps heading to the car show and open house at Vintage Restorations

Mike,
Probably best to identify location as well.
State
City
Location
Etc…

Who/What: black or dark grey Cobra with bronze or gold stripes
When: Sunday, 10/30/2022, noonish
Where: Buckeystown Pike near Westview Promenade

Who/What: black FFR, very dark stripes barely noticeable to me
When: Saturday, November 12
Where: Home Depot, Eldersburg, weekly classic car gathering

I stopped by in my truck on the way from an errand. Didn't see anyone at the car; hood was closed so not sure what power plant it had. Any ideas who this was?

I think that's David Lombardi's FFR. He lives in that area. I haven't talked to him in a while. I'm not sure if he is registered with CACC.
Unfortunately, there is not much of a Cobra club in the Baltimore area to keep track of Cobra guys.

We used to be a lot more active... cruises, parties, events at track and "intervention" builds. The original members are getting old and complacent.
SO...We need the new members to start stepping up and organize some events.

BTW, Who are all these people in my driveway?

I don't know any of those people, but looks like a right good time with some folks I want to know. I've still got some work to do to my roadster, a lot of which I'm hoping to get done over the winter, but come spring I'd definitely be interested in helping to organize some events.

You know it is bad when I'm one of the "young" guys. If you all really want to know what would be a boost is if the new members became a core group who consistently made the VI what it once was (especially during the winter). BTW, Prez, when is the Chilli Dog breakfast?

With luck there will be a Frostbite Cruise Jan 1-2023

To add to what Scott said.
The distance and time away from home seems to restrict member's events.
There are plenty of great car events that require a 5 hour drive and motel. One example is Watkins Glen is a great drive and races of all kinds.
Just throwing it out there!

That may have been me. I live about 5 miles or so from Union Bridge and my wife and are always ramming around the back roads on nice days. This is my FFR MKIISkyline Drive (12).JPG

There's a street named "Elder" in Cumberland MD, no doubt named after me due to my spectacular Autocross performances at the Airport .
