Superformance radiator hoses

I've got the engine, transmission and radiator out to clean up years of neglected oil and coolant leaks. While I'm at it I'm going to replace all of the radiator hoses. Took them down to both Autozone and Advance with no luck. I was really surprised how limited the selection was. Anyone know of a place with a good selection of large radiator hoses?

Even better, anyone know the part numbers needed for the Superformance radiator hoses?

Those are classic Lonestar items that are absolutely horrible to work with, last resort only. Our Pep Boys has a large selection of hoses and they let me in the back to match what I could. In the end, I found one hose for 1st half, did a splicer, then another hose for last half. Or, just call Superformance and ask them.

Superformance has them. They don’t list the price. However, I just realized today that my new radiator has a difference size inlet than the old one. So I’m going to have to change it all up anyway. Pegasus Auto Racing Supplies has silicone ones in every size imaginable. Not cheap but it looks like I should be able to stitch together what I need from them. I’ll probably do that. Or a combination of that and a generic flex hose.

Doug,

generic flex hose.

Fixed it.

Good call. I might have found some rubber hoses that will work at Napa. Bought 2 of the 4 that I'll need. Going to cut and assemble them and see if they one day this week when I can get a little break from work.

I've had two of those chrome flex hoses come off on inital start up. They sprayed coolant all over me, fortunately, it was still cool.

Wemhoff's (now Bissell's) Cobra. The culprit...

NAPA in PVille used to have a pretty good selection, and they would let you walk into the back.

Doug,

I'm sure you know this...

If you use any tubing to connect two pieces of hose, it needs a ridge around the circumference to retain each hose and clamp. Otherwise you'll have the Elder experience if not sooner, then later. Ask how I know (NOT!) For a good example look at the radiator inlet or outlet (or water pump) where each hose is clamped.

There's a little tool called a bead roller that you can use on the pipe to make the ridges.

@Scott Harrison Good to know, thanks. Hearing that, I'll definitely stay away from those...

@Tom Wells Yup. The tubing I have to connect them has the lips on them. I think I'm going to be able to use the original ones that I had now that I found a good variety at Napa.

@JWEHR Thanks for the tip. I'll go over there and check. The one in Leesburg has a good selection but the won't let you go and browse through them. It might not matter too much now that I have figured out how to navigate their site to find what I need.
