This happened… October 8th

Just so you don't feel bad, I've also had a run in with Armco.
The green paint on the front of this hood is from turn 11 at Road America.

Repairs are coming along, parts are enroute. Body back in place, oil cooler box fixed and painted, fan motor replaced, air filter shroud repaired and painted. All ready to be installed once I finish with the radiator issue. There was damage to the power steering rack output rod and the right spindle support adapter bracket. Both replaced.
Next on the list:
1. Radiator
2. Reinstalling repairs & sheet metals
3. Alignment
4. Bodywork
5. Paint will come later

Well, I need to add hood hinge repair to the list. Parts already on hand.

Sorry to hear this.
Don't beat yourself up.
You can't change "yesterday," but you can change tomorrow.
I too had a similar incident about a year ago. But, I did hit the vehicle in front of me.
No injuries. Crunched the front of my Astrovan.
I was my first "accident" in about several decades. It happens.
Thanks for sharing.

Just ordered:
New radiator
Lower support bracket
LED light bulbs
And HELLA light assembly
Are now on the way for the cobra.

Reassembly will hopefully be done by the end of year, then it’s wheel alignment and finally bodywork and then paint.

If I can temp repair the fender I might make the Frostbite Run.

Sorry to see what happened to your Cobra, and thank God nothing happen to you. As we all well know, "been there, done that", and when it happens it hurts you physically, mentally, spiritually, and you feel as if you lost your soul. Knowing your great abilities, I am very certain you will get your Cobra to look better than before, and before was very nice looking. Danny, if there is anything I can do to help you, let me know.

Thanks Hector, everything is going well right now. Will update if any repairs are completed.

The mechanics are all done except for alignment, working on the bodywork now with a friend of mine this weekend.CEFB1422-6E56-4761-9E84-CCE0EFABC7C4.jpeg3BD07283-CA8B-4796-8DF8-6837B84ECCBF.jpeg

Heading home after a lunch with my family, a quarter mile from the 301 bridge, I had to put it into the guardrail.
The situation was normal, plenty of daylight, traffic was stretched out nicely, I had a two car separation with the one in front. The pavement was freshly laid and slick, new guardrails and my dumbass at the wheel.
I was distracted by a road construction worker who I thought was waving at me, but wasn’t. So my attention was briefly distracted, and in a seconds time everyone in front of me were completely stopped.
Brakes locked up and now skidding towards the car ahead of me with force. And I knew it would total my car, so I release the brakes and took the pullover lane missing the other car by inches.
I tried to go parallel between the car and guardrail but the right tire caught and pulled me into it.
The right tire and spindle adapter bracket took the brunt of the force wedging under the rail. The frame seems to have not been damaged (still looking). The right tierod was obviously bent, the spindle adapter support bracket twisted, the body is off by an inch.

The right tire took the brunt of force and wedged under. The frame never came close to hitting. The right tierod is obviously bent, the body it off by an inch at the nose, which I hope just needs to be reset back into position.
Already had the tire and wheel looked… no damaged.
Repairs and parts are in work, details will come later on my repairs.
Sorry to hear this best that you are ok. The car is repairable think you made the right choice.
