Vienna event.

Good afternoon, everyone. As you can see, by the number of my posts, I'm a forum newbie. I'm also about half way through a FFR MKIV build with a 1997 4.6L 4v donor. My question is: What's the Vienna breakfast event the club does, how often, and would me & wife be welcome to attend to view some completed Cobras and jaw with some long-standing members? My wife, Susan, attended Mclean H.S. and would love to re-visit with some locals and also determine if Anita's is still open?
Thanks to everyone who can reply!

Rick, I can’t give much on the Vienna event as I’m one of the Delaware crowd. But, finished car or not, try to come to the Rehoboth Run in late Sept. Plenty of cars to check out and lots of stories shared...some might even have an ounce of truth in them! ;D

Mike, I've heard the Rehoboth Run is quite a collection of Cobra's! I will put it on the calendar as I saw the recent posts about the run.
An ounce of truth is plenty - as long as it's golden!
Look forward to meeting you. Thanks for the reply.

The Grease Up is still every Saturday morning at the Vienna Inn.
dfarhood, Thanks for the reply. I was thinking it was called "Cobras and Coffee" for some reason but "The Grease Up" might be more applicable!
Are some Saturdays better than others to see the cars as far as turnout numbers? Specifically concerning the FFR guys, if they attending, and can let me know by PM to autobody@shentel.net.
Thanks everyone.
Rick.

Rick, There is also a Cars and Coffee on saturdays morning in Great Falls (not cobra specific) that could have confused you. Wait till it gets warmer for breakfast at Vienna Inn, about 2 hrs from Bridgewater :coolsmiley:

Ken,
That's it! "Cars and Coffee" was on another blog I saw years ago.
Yea, I figured it was a little early for the roadster guys at the "Inn".
Anyway, thanks for the reply Superfly! What's your Cobra's MO so I know to who to introduce myself to in Vienna if you attend?
Rick.

I have a Lone Star, so no help there. Also, i live in southern Maryland, so i don't get to Vienna much. There's also a Sunday breakfast in Bowie Maryland, but that would be about 3 1/2 hrs away. My son graduated from Bridgewater, thats what caught my eye on your post.

I drive through Bridgewater's campus everyday to and from work. My wife and tons of friends are alumni - great school.
Do you find the Lone Star's ride a little better than most Cobras' since the wheel base is longer?
What's the Sunday breakfast site in Bowie? Like to add it to my bucket list, Ken.

Cheers,
Rick.

Maryland breakfast is at Bowie Bob Evans at Rt301/50. But it moves sometimes so you need to check. Length is really for larger cockpit. Lone Stars have a very short bar 4 link rear with panhard bar and 9" ford rearend. Better for drag racing. Overall not sure ride comfort is improved over 90 inch wheelbase cars.

I've always heard the Lone Star's are the "Tall Man's" Cobra - now I know why and how!
Thanks for the Bowie info and responses, Ken.

There have been times in the past where there has been a bit of a competition of who is man (or stupid) enough :idiot2:to drive in the coldest weather... A lot of guys have been getting soft lately

dfarhood,
I've been one of those idiots with a top down when snow froze, but, being one who's new this groups' banter, I shall(for the time being) not chime in on any member's mental stability!!
I would guess, however, that this is not your first pony ride when it comes to stirring the club's pot!!??

We get to the Vienna Inn around 0730 to 0800 every Sat. If you get there you will have no problem finding us, trust me. As the weather warms, you are more likely to see a Cobra or two or several. A few go to Katie's Cars and Coffee, but there has been a resurgence at the VI lately.

Thanks for the VI time slot info, Hot Rod. We'll wait for some spring temps to meet any and all for breakfast.
Is Jim Wiley still in the club? I remember him from being down our way here in the Valley.

Hi. Lone Star was acquired/merged with Ultimate Classic Cars, now moving to Comfort TX from Boerne (just outside of San Antonio). Have you had occasion to contact them since your purchase for parts, etc.? I'm 6'4" too and was unable to fit in a Backdraft or Unique (Gadsden, Al) Conbra. Any intel would be greatly appreciated. Thx
