There are many great destination wineries in the area, some of which even have good wine. Frustratingly enough, not enough of them have a paved road that leads to a paved parking area. One place that my wife and I frequent on occasion is Sunset Hills Winery in Purcellville. They do not have a paved driveway, but the drive up the hill from Rt 287 isn't too long. The tasting room is an Amish built barn and the owners, Mike and Diane, are wonderful people. Mike is a car guy and a racer and his wife Diane is a gracious host. In fact, every Father's Day the winery hosts a car show where the owner Mike brings out a few of his collection. I was speaking with Diane this past weekend and suggested to her that a few Cobras may want to show up at the winery one of these weekends. I asked if we could park in the grass in front of the winery (red circle below) instead of the dusty parking lot. She liked the idea and said that the CACC would be welcome. If we are interested in adding this as a stop on our "wire cuise", I will coordinate the date with the winery.

I think Kevin has laid out the best cruise route we've ever had. The starting point will be at the Sheetz Chick-fil-a in Leesburg, with lunch stop at the Blue Moon Cafe in Shepherdstown WV and ending a Breaux Vineyards near Hillsboro VA. The route takes us thru Lucketts, Waterford, Lovettsville, Brunswick MD, Shepherdstown and Harper's Ferry. The route takes us down some incredibly scenic roads, we cross the Potomac and the Shenandoah rivers, cruise thru historic Waterford and Harper's ferry. All roads are well paved including the entrance to Breaux Vineyards. https://www.breauxvineyards.com/

The Blue Moon Cafe is in the center of Shepherdstown with adjacent parking in the college parking lot.

Kevin will be posting the details shortly. Weather permitting, this will be among the best cruises CACC has ever had. Overview map Map w detour.jpg

First, a big thank you to those who worked on putting this "wire cuise" together. It looks like a fun route.
However, with the current list of 18 cars, I do not believe we will get out of the Sheetz gas station and head north on route 15 as a group. Since the gas station, McDonald's, Blue Ridge Grill, and Tractor Supply all exit thru the same traffic light, there is always congestion. I think it may be easier to meet on the east side of route 15 so we can take a right onto route 15 when we head north. I might suggest meeting at Chick-fil-A as they are closed on Sunday.

As the group grows. That is a good idea. So lets meet at the Chick-file at 9:30. We also may have a minor change in the route near Lucketts. There was some road repairs being done from flooding last night. We will confirm.
